If you feel the Personalised Learning College is the right place for you, we’d love to hear from you. Getting in touch early means we can start the application process in good time, secure any funding, and make sure your Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) is ready for the start of the academic year.
We aim to make your journey with us as smooth and stress-free as possible. Here’s what you can expect:
Step 1: Exploring Your Options
Your SEND Development Officer will chat with you and your parent/carer about what’s next after school. They’ll share information about local colleges and providers, including the Personalised Learning College, so you can make an informed choice.
Step 2: Meeting You
Our team will visit your current school or setting to meet you and gather details that will help us design a programme tailored to your needs.
Step 3: Creating Your Personalised Plan
We’ll review your EHCP carefully and work with you to set unique learning outcomes that reflect your interests, needs, and the skills you’ll need for life beyond education.
Step 4: Come and Visit Us
You’ll be invited to visit your local PLC campus, meet the coordinator, and talk through how we can support you. This is your chance to ask questions and see how we’ll help you thrive.
Step 5: Settling In
Before you start, you’ll have at least three visits to the PLC hub so you can get familiar with the environment and meet the staff.
Step 6: Welcome to the Personalised Learning College
If you choose to join us, fantastic, you’re in safe hands. While you’re getting excited about your first day, we’ll be working behind the scenes to make sure everything is ready and your needs are fully met.
